SAUVIGNON BLANC
FAULT
LINE VINEYARD
On
the 16th October 1848, an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of
7.5 shook the Marlborough region. Land moved as much a
s 8 metres horizontally along a major fault line of at least 105km in the
Awatere Valley, 29km south of the town of Blenheim. Today the Fault Line
vineyards flourish in the stony, free-draining soils of Marlborough’s valleys.
Neal
and Judy Ibbotson were pioneers in the Marlborough wine industry, first planting
vineyards in the valley’s unique climate and soils in 1978 and then
establishing Saint Clair Estate in 1994. They
own and developed 100 hectares of vineyards in six different Marlborough
locations chosen specifically for the attributes of their individual locations
and ability to produce top quality grapes.

This
100% Sauvignon Blanc is a ‘fresh’ wine, well rounded with a delicate aroma
of sweet honeysuckle, tropical fruits and a subtle hint of herbs, and has
flavours of gooseberry, citrus with mineral complexity and a lingering finish.
